Co-op Coordinator
Ponsiano joined the Africa Bridge staff in 2016 as Co-op Coordinator. He has 8 years’ experience with cooperatives, livestock, and crop extension and transitions easily between farm and desk.
Ponsiano’s work with Africa Bridge involves training and mentoring the many co-ops engaging in diverse farming enterprises. In his role as Co-op Coordinator, he provides field training, monitoring, coaching, and coordination for co-op members and MVCCs; designs and participates in Future Searches to gather information from community representatives, prioritize project work, and establish ward steering committees; conducts well-being surveys to gather project data; supports co-ops with their internal lending record keeping; and prepares reports, training documents, work plans, and budgets.
Ponsiano speaks both Kiswahili and English. He holds a Diploma in Animal Health and Production from the Tanzanian government’s Livestock Training Agency (LITA) (Madaba Campus) and a Certificate in Animal Health and Production from the same agency (Tengeru Campus). He has also attended courses/training in tropical animal disease diagnosis and treatment, computer application, and monitoring and evaluation. When not working, he enjoys watching football and movies, learning new technology, and exercising.
